Who am I ?

My name is Gabrielle Marsallon, I'm a full-stack developer.

After finishing high school with honors in a scientific branch, I decided to take a few years to train as a professional horse rider. I spent years learning from others professional horse riders how to train, heal and manage horses and a business. I also got a diploma in agricultural businesses management. I then created my own horse farm on 2017.

Then, after dedicating the last decade to my equestrian career, I decided it was time to turn a new page, and, while I’m still working with horses, I reduced my equestrian’s business activity to a minimum. Since programming is one of my oldest passions, I spent the last couple of years following courses and getting certifications in computer science and web development (Harvard's CS50, CS50W, CS50AI, Codecademy's front-end, back-end and full-stack engineer certifications, AWS' DevOps and Cloud Solutions Architectures certifications).

How can I be an asset for your company ?

The discipline, the ability to adapt to any situation, to stay calm and controlled in stressful situations that I learned working with horses are qualities that are surprisingly useful for web development, and programming in general. Managing an equine facility is traditionally done with Agile SCRUM-like methods, so I'm used to it. I can adapt to any other methodology, though. I speak french and english, so I can work just as well with english or french speakers.

I have an analytical and logical mind, I enjoy trying to find the best solution - and not just a solution - to a problem. I am a quick study, and I love learning new things. I think anticipating is essential to make a project thrive long term, and I make a point to try and anticipate every possible consequence of a choice, so I can make the right decisions in the first place. That's why, after my programming cursus, I gained knowledge about cloud architectures and quickly adopted the DevOps culture. It makes it possible for me to have a holistic view of a project and gives me better insights on the situations and challenges encountered.
